Wahlen für alle!
Alle in Sachsen-Anhalt lebenden Menschen sind am 6. Juni dazu aufgerufen, ihre Wahl für die Mitglieder des neuen Landtages zu treffen. Moment: alle in Sachsen-Anhalt lebenden Menschen? Nein. Nur die, die nach geltendem Wahlrecht auch wählen dürfen. Und das sind deutlich weniger als alle.
Landesweit sind rund 52.000 junge Menschen zwischen 15 und 17 Jahren von den Wahlen zum Landtag ausgeschlossen. Zudem haben rund 100.000 erwachsene, dauerhaft hier lebende Menschen ohne deutsche Staatsbürgerschaft am 6. Juni keine Wahl. Und das, obwohl sie Bewohner*innen, Steuerzahler*innen, vor allem aber Betroffene von politischen Entscheidungen sind und damit Anspruch auf politische Beteiligung haben. Von einem „Superwahljahr“ kann aus Sicht dieser Menschen also keineswegs die Rede sein. Und übrigens auch nicht aus Sicht unseres politischen Systems. Denn sind große Teile der Wohnbevölkerung nicht formal in Parlamenten repräsentiert, ist dies ein schwerwiegendes Demokratiedefizit.
Darauf haben das Projekt „Teilhabe für (H)alle“ im Friedenskreis in Kooperation mit dem Stadtteilzentrum „Passage 13“ und dem Landesnetzwerk Migrantenorganisationen Sachsen-Anhalt (LAMSA) e.V. am 26. Mai in Halle-Neustadt aufmerksam gemacht. Neben mehrsprachigen Informationen in einfacher Sprache zu Wahlen, Parteien und Parteiprogrammen gab es auch Möglichkeiten zur Probewahl für Menschen ohne Wahlrecht.
Darüber hinaus konnten am 20. Mai in einem interaktiven Wahlforum die Kandidat*innen der demokratischen Parteien für den Wahlkreis Halle-Neustadt bei der Bewältigung kommunikativer Herausforderungen erlebt werden – übersetzt in verschiedene Sprachen, um die Teilhabe vieler Menschen zu ermöglichen.
Zuletzt noch ein Tipp für alle, die wählen dürfen: die Wahlprüfsteine zur Landtagswahl vom Friedenskreis Halle e.V. sind eine ganz besondere Informationsquelle zu vielfältigen und spannenden friedenspolitischen Themen und wie die demokratischen Parteien dazu stehen.

Elections for all!
All people living in Saxony-Anhalt are called upon to cast their vote for members of the new state parliament on June 6. Wait: all people living in Saxony-Anhalt? No. Only those who are allowed to vote according to current electoral law. And that's significantly less than everyone.
Across the state, around 52,000 young people between the ages of 15 and 17 are barred from voting in state parliament elections. In addition, around 100,000 adults who live here permanently and do not have German citizenship will not be able to vote on June 6. This is despite the fact that they are residents, taxpayers and, above all, affected by political decisions and thus entitled to political participation. From the point of view of these people, there can be no talk of a "super election year". Nor, incidentally, from the point of view of our political system. If large parts of the resident population are not formally represented in parliaments, this is a serious democratic deficit.
The project "Teilhabe für (H)alle" in Friedenskreis in cooperation with the cultural center "Passage 13" and the State Network of Migrant Organizations Saxony-Anhalt (LAMSA) e.V. drew attention to this on May 26 in Halle-Neustadt. In addition to multilingual information in simple language about elections, parties and party programs, there were also opportunities for people without the right to vote to try out the elections.
In addition, on May 20, the candidates of the democratic parties for the Halle-Neustadt constituency could be experienced in an interactive election forum as they mastered communicative challenges - translated into different languages to enable the participation of many people.
Finally, a tip for all those who may vote: the election touchstones for the state elections from the Friedenskreis Halle e.V. are a very special source of information on diverse and exciting peace policy issues and how the democratic parties stand on them.
In this sense: stay informed and active for an open and inclusive society!
